I've allowed one kitten to wander to enter my home this winter. It was very cold at my place in January/February. So the water and milk that I offered to the feral cats that live in my yard could be frozen. So I purchased special heating pads to heat the liquids. However, it wasn't enough to survive the coldest winter days. Each morning, I discovered milk containers that had frozen tops, and chewed holes. These result in thicker creamier components that have to be frozen slower and require colder temperatures. In any event the cat's female is now coming in each day to eat and drink, and stays in the evening before going to the outdoors for a few days.Why should I keep her? As with dogs, cats can be equally risky and unpredictable as dogs. Cats are also prone to bite despite having claws that are just as dangerous as their teeth. No cat can be the same than a Great Dane however there's a fine line. She is not my cat. Does she have the right to bite me? Can I reduce her claws?
