There were moments in which I felt as if that everything was gone for good. One of these was when my computer at home became dark. But, after some tinkering and moving the old hard drive onto the new one and installing a new computer I was able to restore all the work stored on the drive. It took me three days of sweating and tears. However, I did learn an important lesson: Dropbox and personal file servers are a great way to automate or manually backup my entire day's work.This isn't the best solution. You will have to spend more money to maintain your online data store. It's simple to use and seems extremely secure. It's very easy to download and is downloaded anywhere where there's internet. What happens that WiFi or an internet connection isn't available? I always have my laptop on hand for these times. It is my last line of defense against the most difficult situations. I have 2 drives that each have a RAID stack. They both copy each other and make sure there's at least one copy in the event that one of the HDDs crashes. Since I copy a lot of my data there, it's rare that my laptop will work. I do not wish for two drives to go out on the same date.My other day of great sorrow came just a few weeks back. As I said above, I make sure that I don't lose any work I've done. I have now copied the work multiple times and keep it on hand wherever internet connectivity is accessible. This was Periscope. It was something I often used few years in the past, and even during the riots of 2020, I participated in several live streams. However, Periscope TV suddenly closed, and all the videos are expected to disappear in a few weeks. What can I do? I'm required to download all of the videos to store them offline on my laptop. They are extremely important to me. It's the last time I've been hanging with a friend who disappeared from the radar during Covid and it seems like it got him..It is a site that I frequently frequent. It lets me download my videos to Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook which are the other sites that host most of live streaming. I'm interested in politics and underground movements. I also take a lot of videos of live events, and store them for future use. I then upload them videos on my YouTube channel and then save them onto my computer. This is the way I do it. It also allows me to cross-post videos to multiple platforms. This means that I can not only share YouTube videos via Facebook but also upload the identical video to Facebook. This will be a separate video. It turns out that I have more than 3TB of live streams I've made in the last 8 years. It's not like I'm going to lose my Periscope lives.. This site is very helpful to me.It functions like an angel. Start the Periscope video that I wish to download and copy the URL through the share link. Then, I go to the video-downloader site then paste the video URL there, and within a few seconds I'll see a variety of choices for downloading videos. I can save the video to my desktop or laptop, transfer it to other platforms, and then save it for my friends and loved ones. Periscope isn't accessible on all websites. But, this site offers Periscope support.By the way, if you were unaware that you could actually create windows copy commands that allow you to join these fragments to make a normal 1 long video file. This is due to the video format Mpeg TS (or transport stream) which is used for video fragments. The format for video used in the fragments is Mpeg TS. It allows newcomers to stream from the middle of the stream without interruption. It also keeps data off the browser, as it downloads 360x10 seconds files instead of the 1hr file. This means that if you watch only 25 seconds of the stream, it will only download 4-6 fragments. (It receives 3-4 fragments from the 25 second stretch plus 1 or 2 additional fragments should you continue to watch the stream). This lets you save a lot of data by downloading just 25 seconds of stream video.
