I personally have invited one stray cat in the winter. It was extremely cold in my area during January and February. My milk and water for cats that were stray were frozen. I purchased special heating pads to keep the frozen liquids from freezing. However, it did not work on cold days. In the morning, I would find frozen milk containers as well as licked-through spots. This would lead to more creamy, thicker milk that is more difficult to freeze and needs cooler temperatures. This little female cat now comes in every day for food and drink.
